Even if a Developer is a Member of Consumer Code for New Homes it doesn’t mean every Development or unit is covered by this Code. Ask the Developer to clarify which Code applies to the development.
Yes, we have an online training portal. We ask that at least the lead agent is trained on the Code, but you may train as many staff as you wish. Completing the training along with reading the Code is the best way to know what the requirements are. A CPD certificate is issued per module. The training needs to be completed annually. Please ask the Developer to add your members of staff to the training portal.
Yes. We have an online Members download area. There is only one master login per Developer. Please ask the developer to download.
There are lots of templates, Code logo, plus a standard reservation agreement and reservation checklist. We strongly advise you to use our template reservation agreement and the checklist to ensure buyers are given all the information required under the Code.
Under the Consumer Code, Buyers entitled to a full refund up to 7 days after the reservation agreement has been signed. There are other situations that would give a Buyer termination rights, such as if the Developer makes subsequent changes to the new home that would affect the value of the property. Please refer to Section 5.3 of the Code for more details on termination rights.
After the 7 day cancellation period, under the Consumer Code for New Homes a Buyer is not entitled to a refund of a reservation fee if they can’t proceed with the purchase, or if they change their mind for whatever reason.
