Consumer Code for New Homes Passes Annual Code Audit

CCNH has passed this year’s Chartered Trading Standards Institute Code audit with very positive feedback on the high standards of consumer protection set by the Code.

As a Chartered Trading Standards Institute Approved Code, Consumer Code for New Homes is rigorously assessed against the Code approval standards on an annual basis. We passed this year’s audit with some very positive feedback from the auditor. The auditor commended us on a well written comprehensive Code, that fully complies with the requirements of the Approved Code Scheme and is fit for purpose.

The audit focused on advice to Code members including general compliance advice and training; marketing and advertising by developers including terms and conditions, cancellation rights, deposit protection, consumer complaints handling processes and sanctions against members for non-compliance with the Code.

The audit report concluded that Consumer Code for New Homes continues to provide the highest level of consumer protection.

Sarah Langley, Managing Director of Consumer Code for New Homes said ‘This year’s audit confirms that we have a fit for purpose Code that provides the highest level of consumer protection for new homebuyers. The Code Team really appreciate the external validation from the Chartered Trading Standards Institute Approved Code Scheme.’
